Oxidising GHS Sign
- This GHS sign communicates the existence of oxidising liquids, solids or gases that may cause or intensify fire.
- Chemical examples: Calcium hypochlorite (pool chlorine), Sodium nitrite (water coolants), and Hydrogen peroxide (bleach).
- Hazard represented by a flame over a circle pictogram.
- GHS signs are required as a precaution to ensure safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
- This GHS sign must be visibly displayed on:
1. The individual container of an oxidising substance, and;
2. The exterior of the facility, vehicle or storage container in which the chemical is located - To appropriately inform and alert emergency services in the case of an emergency.
