Prohibition Signs specify when a general instruction or action must be adhered to. When you need to tell people that they can’t do something, you’ll need a Prohibition Sign. These safety signs feature the universally recognisable red circle or annulus with a diagonal line through it. Keep people from entering private property with a NO ENTRY sign or signal that people aren’t allowed to smoke in an area with a NO SMOKING sign. Sign wording is in black lettering on a white background. Sign layout must comply to AS 1319 regulations.

Danger Signs are safety signs for warning of a particular hazard or hazardous condition that is likely to be life-threatening.... Danger safety signage has many uses and can warn of many dangerous situations – such as fuel storage, radiation, high voltage, chemicals, open holes, and worksite hazards. The sign is shown as the word Danger on a red oval over a black rectangle. Text is black on a white background.

Caution Signs may be used where attention needs to be drawn towards some hazard. These can be found in workplaces where workers and machine operators need to be notified of various hazards associated with their job. Caution signs indicate with text, and sometimes graphics in bold and large print, what the individual is to be aware of and what necessary precautions need to be taken when approaching a particular area or doing a certain task. Use Caution signs for information on Overhead / Clearance hazards, wet floors, certain PPE requirements and RF hazards. Do not use if there is a chance of death or serious injury or illness. Caution signs are generally a yellow background with black text and picto.

Mandatory Signs specify actions that are required to safeguard health and/or avoid injury. Mandatory signs provide specific instructions that MUST be carried out. These industrial and workplace safety signs are essential for promoting the wearing of PPE and abiding by safe workplace procedures. Symbols (or pictograms) are depicted in white on a blue circular background. Sign wording, if necessary, is in black lettering on a white background.
